Sewer Cleaning

LASA uses 2 combination vacuum jetter trucks manufactured by Vactor to clean the sewer lines as well as clear blockages. These trucks utilize high pressure water jet nozzles that travel through the sewer mains. These jet nozzles clean the walls of the sewer pipe and wash any debris to the nearest downstream manhole. These trucks also utilize a large vacuum system that is able to remove debris quickly and efficiently. These trucks carry everything that is needed to perform these tasks. These trucks can also deploy a cutter head to cut roots and cut obstructions such as protruding laterals. This is work is done to prevent future blockages, maintain sewer capacity in the pipeline and prevent debris from entering the pumping stations. Approximately 350,000 feet of pipeline is cleaned every year by LASA staff. Check the calendar for scheduled cleaning activities.
